Bob born in New Jersey to Robert and Rita Lauterbach grew up in New Jersey, where he schooled and graduated at Wall High School in 1966, he then moved to Nebraska shortly after completing his education in high, where he attended college. The graduate of Tarkio University, Missouri came out with distinction in Physical Education.

He later went on to take a teaching and coaching job at Papillion and Arlington before he later joined YMCA career in Fremont as their Program Director. Bob in 1984, moved to Columbus where he was elected the Executive Director of the YMCA prior to his retirement in 2008.

His Many impacts and contributions to the Columbus community has been the backbone for many programs and services which many generations of kids benefited from. Bob was engaged to Cindy Wagner since they got married in 1969, a union which produced two children, he later married Jan Gokie in July 13, 1991, in Columbus.

Bob and his wife Jan were members of the St. Bonaventure Church, he was one of the originators of the Downtown Runaround held every year in Columbus, which has spanned 34 years. He is survived by wife, Jan Lauterbach, sons and other members of the extended family. He will be muchly missed by all who knew him.
